In the recent past, the Group has thoroughly analysed the implications of the EU RISM II Directive by focusing mainly on the Network-wide Road Safety Assessment used to evaluate accident risks. On this issue, the main challenge is the transposition of RISM II into national legislation.
This expert group focuses on the vital issue of efficient traffic flows and aims to reinforce the role of European NRAs as providers of seamless mobility from an end user perspective within the transport system.
The aim of this programme is to support European NRAs in the implementation of the safe system approach. It considers the position of each NRA in relation to the safe system adoption and implementation as well as the constraints relevant to each respective country, including but not limited to: cultural, fiscal, geographical and organisational differences.
