Last week CEDR’s Governing Board approved the membership application of Liechtenstein and we wholeheartedly welcome Dr. Otto C. Frommelt as representative and Governing Board member.
The National Road Office (NRO) is acting on behalf of the Principality of Liechtenstein Government and has the following main tasks and responsibilities:
- Contributing to road safety, sustainability, blockchain mobility and autonomous driving
- Drafting and implementing European Economic Area/Swiss/Liechtenstein policies and law
- Stakeholder collaboration with government, EU institutions, UNECE, society and industry
- Issuing of driving licenses and vehicle registrations including “FL” number plates
- Technical inspections of all types of light, medium and heavy motor vehicles
Their aim is to contribute in partnership with know-how, collaboration and international expertise of a small but future oriented and agile country to CEDRs vision and strategic goals.
Dr. Otto C. Frommelt, MBA is Director at the National Road Office of the Principality of Liechtenstein. He has top management expertise and significant international experience within the automotive industry, governmental administration, non-profit organisations and innovative start-up companies. He is a qualified expert in Strategy Development, Scenario Planning and Foresight studies.
His Senior Executive roles have been diverse and include those of CEO & Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Information Officer (CIO), Business Development Director, Marketing Manager, and Chairman/Board Member of Dealership Groups, Leasing and Rental companies and non-profit organisations (e.g. the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), UK). Moreover, he is Mentor, Key Note Speaker, an international Scenario, Strategy and Foresight Expert as well as Business Ambassador. Most recently, he published several articles about Digitalisation to Touch, Autonomous Vehicles and Mobility in the Blockchain. In addition, he contributed to an European Union (EU) foresight project, conducted scenario planning workshops, held scenario-based strategic conversations and also co-chaired the Platform Future Group to develop scenarios for the Future of Mobility.
