CEDR
MEMBER AREA

CEDR WG Performance of Road Network's main objective is to establish a set of consistent and comparable data to monitor trends and identify changes in the performance of European roads. This data can be a useful source of information for NRAs with regards to their benchmarking purposes and national performance targets.

In the above context, the Group has been developing biannual Performance Reports since 2009 summarising the performance of the road network within CEDR member countries. Furthermore, the WG has created a GIS web map to support the visualisation of collected data and give higher visibility to its work.

The Group's latest report is the 2021 Pan European Road Network Performance Report which includes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Performance Indicators (PIs) on safety, traffic, environment, road assets, finances and customer satisfaction.

In fall 2024, the WG is expected to publish its 2023 Pan European Road Network Performance Report which will feature indicators on several new areas such as bridges, tunnels, intelligent transport systems (ITS), hard shoulder running (HSR), rest areas etc. This report will also be complemented by a new internal KPIs report with an even more detailed structure reflecting the overall strategy of CEDR and the three strategic principles of the Compass process.
