The main reason for this research programme is to gain better knowledge and guidance of how to promote multimodality in the transport system.
The aim is to advance national road authorities’ understanding of transport users’ motives and needs for choosing different transport modes as well as of the impacts of appropriate incentives for a modal shift. The call has three sub-themes:
- Multimodality for a decrease in car usage
- Consideration of vulnerable road users in a multimodal context
- Impact of new technologies on modal choice
